Hello, and thank you for visiting my personal and professional space. I’m Dr. Wade G. Douglas, a surgical oncologist, educator, researcher, and lifelong Floridian. Here, I share insights from over two decades in surgical oncology and medical education, reflections on leadership, diversity, and mentorship, as well as glimpses into the daily rhythms of an academic surgeon.
My goal is simple: to advance meaningful conversations in surgery and oncology, highlight issues of equity and inclusion, and perhaps most importantly, offer guidance and encouragement to the next generation of medical professionals. Whether you’re a fellow surgeon, student, colleague, or simply curious about this field — I hope you’ll find something here that informs, inspires, or sparks a new perspective.
